Advancement Services
Organization Chart Examples
Following are some generic organization charts for the overall Advancement organization. In the largest organizations the Advancement Services organization may be as complex as the "Medium Organization" below. Please share your charts with us. As folks respond to this survey, I will post their real examples here.
Small Advancement or Development Offices

Smaller organizations often have the support staff reporting directly to the head of the development organization or one of his/her direct reports. Advancement Services may not have a separate organization chart, but will be part of the overall department organization.
Medium Sized Advancement Offices

In a medium-sized organization there may be a separate development services organization, or key services staff may still report to line fund-raisers. The services personnel may report to several different directors or managers within the overall Department.
Large Advancement Organizations

In larger organizations, there is virtually always a separate Development Services unit with a manager over staff providing a number of support tasks. There is often typically a separate MIS/IT organization for the institution which may provide hardware, networking, additional custom programming, etc. for the Advancement Organization.
Separate Advancement Services Organizations

In medium to large Advancement Organizations, the Advancement Services organization may itself have a comprehensive organization chart (perhaps as above.)
